RE: FedEx is suppose to deliver some parts today....

YOURADHERE, FedEX Ground "stinks" here. FedEx sub-contract the ground service to a local carrier who could care less about on-time delivery. If I can talk the vendor, with whom I am doing business, into using UPS, I will pay extra for it. If not, I am stuck with risky delivery. By-the-way DHL is even worse. Sid

RE: 4x4 with bucket vs. subcompact tractor

atomship47, A few years back I had a 16 horsepower Kubota tractor. It was a 3 cylinder diesel. I was amazed at the power it had and the quality (fit and finish) was great. I was, however, disappointed with the lifting capacity of the bucket (about 600 lbs). In order to pick up any substantial weight with the bucket I had to buy optional rear wheel weights ($) that affix to the inside or outside of the wheels (back end was too light). For the work you would like to do, I would heartily recommend a tractor, preferably a larger engine. The new versions have hydrostatic transmissions that just require moving the handle to change "gears" or direction and the three-point-hitch is moved up and down hydraulically. The power take off (a drive shaft) will allow the use of many different implements. The on-board hydraulic pump serves to support the use of a front bucket and other equipment. All-in-all I can't imagine going wrong with a tractor. I'm partial to Kabota because that is where my experience has been. Good Luck in your searching. Sid

RE: Check dis out!

drummer89, You said "It's okay I guess". Don't sell yourself short. Good job! The resolution was really good. I like the "touch" with the stills near the end. Looking forward to more. Thanks, Sid

RE: dove springs/jawbone canyon..

bbgmaster, I can only imagine what you two went through. That area is so peppered with mine shafts. Would really ruin you riding experience to enounter one of those. Outside Ridgecrest there have been numerous occasions that young kids have found themselves down a mine shaft. Some were luck enough to be rescued and some were just recovered. When I saw that you were riding 50 to 55 mph I went to your "Profile" and realized that you have a machine capable of doing that. I, on the other hand, have a utility quad that is not able to do that. I am up in age and just enjoy the scenery while I am out in the hills. Ha,ha. The "Welcome Mat" is always out. When you are in the area the invitation for dinner is there for your and yours. I presume you are in the military. If you "are deployed" be safe and thank you and your buddies for your service to our great country. Very Respectfully, Sid

RE: dove springs/jawbone canyon..

bbgmaster, Sorry about the accident. I did mention that those areas are great to ride in but have their challenges. I wish I would have known you were in Ridgecrest, I would have bought you dinner, however, sounds like you were in no condition to enjoy it. Hope you heal quickly. Next time you are going to be in the area send me a "PM" and I'll give you a phone number. Sid

RE: 100*F....

comrad, Got up to 110 degrees today. All you can do is stay inside until it gets a little cooler in the evening. So far my Grizzly 660 hasn't given me any trouble in the desert heat. I've ridden in 100+ temperatures and the machine doesn't mind it. I sure do. ha,ha. Now that the heat is really on, I will leave at 5:30 in the morning and try to get back by about 9:00 or so. (Note: Fortunately, I am retired so I can taylor my riding according to the weather/temperature. Sid

RE: SPORTSMAN 600 2005 Electrical problem

wooly, Be sure to check the position of the "kill switch" and make sure the machine is in "Neutral" or "Park" (If the machine has one or both). Additionally, You could even try holding the left brake lever in (if so equipped) while trying to start it. That "ignition recall and ecm swap" could very well be the cause of the problem. If all else fails look for the fuse block and start cleaning contacts on terminal after checking the fuses. A manual, with wiring diagram, would also be helpful. Good Luck, Sid

RE: i got burned.

high octane junkie, How did you pay for these shocks? If it was with a credit card, you can dispute the charge on the statement, when received. You can also contact the credit card company and inform them you are doing that. Additionally, if paid with Pay-Pal, through e-bay, they will assist you. E-bay owns Pay-Pal and encourages purchasers to use it. A black mark on their reputation is not good for business. If you paid with a personal check, just put a stop on the check through the bank. The service charge they assess against your account is small in comparison with the possible loss. I'm sure these options have been already recommended but I thought I would mention them again. Good Luck Sid

RE: ATV runs in the family

casperBrittain, My condolences to you and your family. Based on what you have told us in the past, she was an extraordinary lady. She will always be with you. You have been a great granddaughter. The care and love you gave her while she was in the assisted care facility, was something we can all aspire to provide for any of our loved ones that may be in the same situation. God Bless You all. With My Greatest Respect, Sid

RE: will this help my wolvie?

foxracingusa, Type wiseco into the "search" field above and hit the "Go" button. There is a great deal of information on the company. Be sure to read through the many posts in that area. Make sure that you are really confident with the company before investing many dollars into their products. Very Respectfully, Sid

RE: Will I be satisfied ?

Devilcat1, Congratulations on the new machine. Enjoy!! If, as you have explained, have no experience with these machines, I would recommend that you "hook-up" with someone who will teach you some entry level riding skills. Possible through the dealer or through the ATV Safety Institute. (Note: You will receive a card soon after the machine is delivered.) The class is free and it is well worth the time invested. Additionally, a medium priced helmet and some decent boots. Don't get carried away with all the high cost riding outfits. By-the-way you think you will just use this machine on the farm. Ha,ha. You have no idea how much fun these machines are. As soon as you learn the basic techniques of riding you WILL want to explore. I have been smitten enough to where I really want a sport quad. My Grizzly 660 is great but I'm not sure it's fast enough. Ha,ha. Best of luck, Sid

RE: valves making noise ..

camofox, If by some wild stretch of the imagination could the noise be attributed to a loose exhaust shield. The manufacturer of your quad might just get their parts from the same place Yamaha does. Just a thought! Sid

RE: Charlie Heston

A sad day for all Americans. Charlton Heston was true Red White and Blue. With his stands and gun rights and all other American traditions, he will be sorely missed. These high profile people with the best interests of our great country are getting fewer and fewer. I will personally miss this great man and his presence in our Democracy. With the greatest respect for his memory and the deepest sympathy to his family. Sid

RE: Break in period for rebuilt motor?

RTY, Great link. I've never see that much detail on break-in. The additional supportive data is certainly worth the reading. I wonder how this all plays out since the advent of new anodized cylinder liners and Teflon coatings used on some of the other internal engine components? Thanks, Sid

RE: 06 250ex oil change

blaster250cr, Do you still have the owners manual for the machine? If so, review the section on "Maintenance", specifically "oil changing". If you follow that, you should be OK. It will also suggest the type and quantity of oil to use. If a filter is needed, the amount of oil will increase by a small amount. Do not overtighten any of the plugs or items that you have to remove. Use a torque wrench and follow the specifications a called out in the manual. Good Luck. Sid

HotrodRaptor700, Great paint job on the helmet!! Thanks for sharing it. You are really talented. Have you tried your hand at painting your Raptor? If you did I'd be willing to bet it would be a show stopper. Sid

RE: I bought a new comp!

camo fox, Congratulations on the new computer. I now have about three weeks under my belt with Vista which is loaded on a new H/P Computer. I have found it to be a great operating system. After leaving the "Stone Age" with Windows ME on dial-up and advancing to Verizon High Speed Internet, I feel like I have been given a whole new appreciation of the Internet and its vast quantity of information. Enjoy!! Sid

RE: Stock Location of Trail Tech MR16 on 700

BajaBerg7, The picture doesn't show the mounting clearly. I think however, you are on the right track. If the wiring is long enough, a simple offset bracket would do the job easily. If you are not handy that way, ask the manufacturer if they have any such thing available that isn't going to "break the bank". Possibly a friend can make some suggestions and even provide some assistance. Sid
